Outfall 15, St Mary’s Island, Chatham, Kent

Project: Outfall 15 on St Mary’s Island comprises of the construction of a Surface Water outfall and viewing platform. This complex civil engineering project includes CFA piling works to 20m deep with restricted access and loading constraints, part removal of the existing flood defence wall, 1200mm dia pipework and retaining structures, completed on both the landside of the existing flood wall and below the MHWS level.

Allen Dadswell act as both Employer’s Representative and Quantity Surveyors. The service has included obtaining numerous statutory body approvals such as an MMO licence, river works licence, undertaking a WFD assessment and EA consent.

The project has been procured on a two stage tender process with an ICC Design and Construct form of Contract.
